Pensacola Scores Big: Locks in SEC Soccer Tournament Through 2026
Pensacola, FL (December 13, 2024) – Following an exhilarating SEC Women’s Soccer Championship that saw the University of Texas clinch its first-ever SEC title, Pensacola Sports is thrilled to announce a renewed agreement with the Southeastern Conference (SEC) to keep the tournament at Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola through 2026. This new contract also includes an option to extend the partnership, potentially securing Pensacola as the tournament’s host city through 2029.
The SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament has been held in Pensacola since 2022, quickly establishing the city as a premier destination for collegiate soccer. This year’s tournament drew higher attendance than 2023, reflecting the event's growing popularity and Pensacola’s reputation as an outstanding host city for the championship.
“Pensacola has provided an outstanding experience for our teams and SEC soccer fans from across the region,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. “We look forward to continuing to have Pensacola as the backdrop to long-lasting memories for our student-athletes and fans.”
The 103-acre Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park, which is home to 13 full-size soccer fields including a stadium complex with two state-of-the-art locker rooms, provides a perfect stage for the excitement and athleticism of SEC women’s soccer. Pensacola Sports, the event’s official host, has worked closely with the SEC to ensure a top-notch experience for athletes, staff, and fans alike.
“We’re thrilled that the SEC has re-committed to Pensacola for this tournament,” said Ray Palmer, president of Pensacola Sports. “Each year, we strive to enhance the tournament experience for everyone involved, and this extension shows the confidence the SEC has in Pensacola as a host city. We’re looking forward to welcoming the teams and their supporters back through 2026 and possibly beyond.”
Pensacola’s continued hosting of the SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament highlights the city’s role as a vibrant sports destination in the Southeastern region, combining top-notch athletic facilities with Southern hospitality.
