Bayou Hills Run Highlights Fun-Filled Labor Day Weekend
Pensacola, FL – (August 11, 2021) – Hit the ground running on Labor Day Monday, Sept. 6, at one of Pensacola’s oldest racing events, the 2021 Bayou Hills Run. This long-established 5K and 10K race highlights an activity-filled Labor Day weekend in Pensacola that also includes a soccer tournament, music festivals, and even more running events.
The theme for this year’s Bayou Hills race is: ‘Celebrating Educators on Labor Day.’
“To honor an industry that has shown great strength and courage this past year and helped bring the community together after a very tough year, Pensacola Sports is offering 250 free entries to anyone in the education industry wishing to participate in the run,” said Ray Palmer, president of Pensacola Sports.
A post-race party with food, drinks, beer, and music will take place at Bayview Park, a perfect setting along Bayou Texar that includes playgrounds and pavilions for the kids and families.
Visitors are encouraged to stay the full weekend in Pensacola to experience all the area has to offer. In addition to the Bayou Hills Run, Pensacola Sports is also hosting the DeLuna’s JUCO Showcase soccer tournament on Saturday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 6, at Pensacola’s Ashton Brosnaham Park. This junior college round-robin soccer event includes eight teams competing from across the Southeast and is free to watch.
