Bud Light Fishing Rodeo Prizes

June 19-22, 2020

This year’s Bud Light Fishing Rodeo will take place June 19-22, 2020. The weigh in is at Flounders on Pensacola Beach on Saturday from 2p-7p and Sunday from noon-6p.

Cash awards and prizes await the angler who weighs in the top three fish in 21 different species. In addition to the rodeo, there is the Step One Automotive King Mackerel Challenge with separate buy-in and cash and prizes awarded to the boat that brings in the biggest king mackerel. There is also the In-Shore Challenge and the Academy Sports and Outdoors Junior Rodeo.

The 2020 InShore Challenge boundaries will include fishing between the west boundary, Highway 59 bridge in Gulf Shores Alabama, to the east boundary, the Mid-Bay Bridge in Destin Florida. All anglers are subject to a polygraph to verify catch in boundary.

1st through 3rd place prizes will be awarded for the following divisions:

1st place = $200 in prizes & award
2nd place = $100 in prizes & award
3rd place = $50 in prizes & award

• King Mackerel is the ONLY eligible species.
• The King Mackerel Challenge is an SKA event, but you are not required to be a member of SKA to participate. All Rodeo rules still apply.
• All anglers must purchase a general rodeo ticket to be eligible for Challenge prizes.
• Prize depth will be based on the total number of boats entered in the Challenge.

1st through 3rd place prizes will be awarded for the following divisions for each age group (10 & under and 11-16):

1st place = $50 in fishing gear & trophy
2nd place = $30 in fishing gear & trophy
3rd place = $20 in fishing gear & trophy

PRIZES for the InShore Challenge are limited to one per boat. Prizes will be awarded for the Grand Slam. The Grand Slam prizes will be awarded to the boats weighing in the heaviest three fish total (one from each eligible species) over the tournament. If there are no fish entered in all three categories by one boat, then the heaviest total from two categories will be used. Bonus prizes and cash awards are supplemental prizes. All winners are subject to a polygraph and are required to sign a sworn affidavit. Social Security numbers will be required for any prize of $600.00 or more. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the earliest official weigh-in time.

• Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder are the only eligible species.
• Grand Slam consists of the combined total weight of all three species.
• 100% of all entry fees will be returned in prizes.
• All anglers must purchase a general rodeo ticket to be eligible for Challenge prizes. • Prize depth will be based on the total number of boats entered in the Challenge.
• All entries must be received by 11:59pm, June 19, 2020. All participants must be entered in the InShore Challenge and have purchased a general rodeo ticket including youth and junior anglers. Cash Awards must be claimed by July 22, 2020 or winnings will be forfeited to the tournament.

Please use the chart as a guideline for prize payout. Prize money will increase and decrease based on the total boat count.

20-29 Boat Field = 50%, 30%, 20% payouts

20 Boat Example: 1st: $3000 2nd: $1800 3rd: $1200

30-39 Boat Field = 50%, 30%, 20% payouts

30 Boat Example: 1st: $4500 2nd: $2700 3rd: $1800

40-49 Boat Field = 50%, 25%, 15%, 10% payouts

40 Boat Example: 1st: $6000 2nd: $3000 3rd: $1800 4th: $1200

OPTIONAL CASH AWARD CATEGORIES: Day 1 Slam & Final Grand Slam $200, $100, and $50

INDIVIDUAL FISH CATEGORY: (Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Snapper) $100 and $50

• Each category will be paid out for first, second and third place based on a 50%, 30% and 20% split of total monies minus a 10% tournament fee. If there are 5 – 10 entries in a cash optional division then the prizes will be based on a first place 60% and second place 40% split; 4 or less entries in a division will be a winner take all award.

Bonus prizes are supplemental awards to the Bud Light General Rodeo and Academy Sports + Outdoors Junior Rodeo Prizes.  All registered anglers are eligible for bonus prizes where appropriate and are eligble to win more than one bonus prize.

Raymarine Mystery Weight

$100 in Prize Value (2 prizes)

There are two Mystery Weight Bonuses. These bonuses will be awarded to the first angler to weigh an eligible tournament fish that weighs between 30 – 50 lbs and 10 lbs and under. If the exact weights aren’t hit, then the closest to each weight without going over will win.

 

Lady Angler

Awarded to the first lady angler weighing in the largest eligible tournament fish each day. Day 1 & 2 – $100 in prize value.

 

Creighton Tippins Parker Memorial Award

The Creighton Tippins Parker Memorial Award will be given to one angler in each age group in the youth and junior division to the angler weighing in the largest King Mackerel.

Each winner will receive $500 and a trophy.

The award and trophy was named in memory of Creighton Tippins Parker, a lifelong resident of Pensacola, who passed away in 2011. His love and talent for fishing was apparent at a young age.  He fished numerous local tournament with his team Rag-Tag. They won or placed 2nd or 3rd in many tournaments and was active in the Southern Kingfish Association. They were named National Champions of the Yamaha Professional Tour in 2001 and was named Angler of the Year in 2003 by the Pensacola News Journal.
