March 10-12 at Roger Scott Tennis Center and UWF
Other than the NJCAA National Championship, it’s rare to have many nationally ranked teams in one tournament on the same weekend, but that is what Pensacola Sports was able to do for this weekend’s inaugural Pensacola Collegiate Tennis Invitational. Hosted at both the Roger Scott Tennis Center and UWF tennis facility, 15 nationally ranked teams including the defending NJCAA men’s and women’s national champions ASA Miami Silver Storm will play a round-robin event March 10-12.
All the teams are ranked in the top 25 nationally including the top two in both divisions. The teams and rankings are:
Women’s Teams: Tyler Junior College (TX) (1)
State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (2)
ASA Miami (3)
Seward County Community College (KS) (5)
Eastern Florid State College (7)
Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College – ABAC – (GA) (9)
St. Petersburg College (FL) (10)
Meridian Community College (MS) (18)
Harford Community College (MD) (24)
Men’s Teams: Tyler Junior College (TX) (1)
ASA Miami (2)
Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College – ABAC – (GA) (4)
Seward County Community College (KS) (5)
Harford Community College (MD) (9)

“Pensacola is a good central location for these top-notch teams to play an early season match,” said Pensacola Sports President Ray Palmer. “We have been working on this for a couple of years and we are very excited to have such a high-quality field in our inaugural year.”
The teams will play a round-robin format beginning Friday at 9 a.m. each day. The second round of matches each day will begin roughly at 2 p.m. Each match will consist of three doubles matches and six singles matches.
There is no charge for the public to view the matches.
