There’s a lot of moving parts and race details that need to be communicated to the participant.  This page answers most of the question you may have.  If you can’t find it on this page or the other pages, send us a note and we’ll get you an answer quickly.  Thank you for your interest and running the Double Bridge Run.  Be Moved!

The course for the 2021 Double Bridge Run is in the works. Although the race will have a very different look, it will have the same great features, and more. Both races, 15k & 6k will begin and end on Pensacola Beach and will include running over the Bob Sikes Bridge twice and into the City of Gulf Breeze. In addition to these course changes, the 15k will also include part of the south section of the Pensacola Bay Bridge.

15K runners are required to keep a 14-minute per mile pace

All participants for the 15k & 6k are encouraged to park at the beach.

The main Casino Beach Parking Lot is the preferred parking lot. 

There will be NO Shuttle buses from Pensacola to Pensacola Beach for the race.

Both the 6k and 15K races will be scored and age category prizes awarded based on NET TIME, meaning you will only be scored for when you cross the start and finish lines, not when the gun goes off.  Overall awards are scored based on gun time. Both races will have a corral start. Please go to your assigned corral. Corrals are assigned based on your minute per mile pace. The 15k has a 14 minute per mile pace requirement.

Both races will be scored using the IPICO electronic timing system.  All bibs will have a disposable chip, you must wear your bib properly in order to be timed.  Once you have crossed the finish line keep moving forward. No chips to remove!

There are NO strollers, bikes, roller blades, or dogs allowed in either race.

The entire course will close at 11:30am

In order to keep everyone safe and reduce the number of touch points and person to person contact. There will be NO AID STATIONS along the course.  Instead, runners are encouraged to bring your own water.  Each runner will also receive a water bottle inside their runner packet to use for the race.  We are encouraging everyone to fill this bottle and bring it with you for the race.

The starting line for the 15K and 6k race is at Casino Beach Pavilion. The finish line for both races will be in the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk parking lot. 15K runners are required to keep a 14-minute per mile pace.

In an effort to keep everyone safe and reduce the number of touch points, there will be NO Bag Check offered to participants.  Please plan accordingly.

4 pins must be used to secure your bib to your shirt or shorts. They are provided to you.

Bib must be visible throughout the race and worn on the front of your body.

There will be water, medical support and portable toilets at the start and finish areas. There will be DJ’s on the course strategically placed to keep you entertained and motivated.

Participants in both races receive an official race t-shirt, a 100% soft polyester long-sleeve shirt available in both men’s and women’s cuts.
All 15K and 6K finishers will receive a commemorative Finisher’s Medals.
All participants will receive free photos available for download following the race, provided by Fishbein Orthodontics.

In an effort to accommodate participants in the Pensacola area and in the Gulf Breeze/Pensacola Beach area we will have two packet pickup locations:

Thursday, February 4 – Pensacola Bay Center 2:00pm – 7:00pm
Friday, February 5 – Holiday Inn Resort Pensacola Beach 12:00pm – 7:00pm

The Expo, Packet Pickup and Late Registration (if not sold out) will be available for you to pick up your race packets. Proxy Pick-Up is available. The person picking up the packet that is not theirs will have to sign for it. Day of race packet pick-up is not recommended, but will be available for those not able to make the Thursday or Friday time.

The expo will have limited vendors and room capacity will be monitored.  We will ask that all participants picking up a packet wear a mask.

Participants will receive a 100% soft polyester long-sleeve shirt. Both men’s and women’s cuts are available. Please specify your size of shirt you would like when you submit your race application. Size and/or availability of shirts are not guaranteed to late registrants.

Cash awards will be awarded to the 15K first ($750), second ($400) ,third place ($200), fourth ($100), and fifth ($50) finishers in both men and women categories.  Cash award winners are subject to drug testing prior to distribution of cash award.

Overall awards for the 15K and 6K runner’s races including overall, masters, grandmasters and senior grandmasters will be awarded at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk Bandshell.  Age group awards three deep in five year age groups starting at 13 for the 15K and 10 for the 6K will be available. Walkers will be awarded three deep in two categories: 39 and under and 40 and over

There will not be an awards ceremony, winners can pick up their awards at the band shell.  An announcement will be made when results are finalized for each race.

7:40 am – 15K – Begin lining up in correct corral for start
7:55 am – Colors Presentation and National Anthem
8:00 – Start of the 15K Double Bridge Run presented by Publix (Corrals of 200 will leave every 7 minutes)
9:45am –  Start of the 6K Double Bridge Run presented by Publix (Corrals of 200 will leave every 7 minutes)
10:30 – 2:00pm – Band at the SandShaker
11:30 am – Course Closes
12:00 pm Beer Service Ends
12:00 – 1:00pm –  Pick up awards at the SandShaker
2:00 pm – POST-Post-Race at the Sandshaker Ends

Participants are encouraged to continue your celebrations at Pensacola Beach restaurants.

This is a Pensacola Sports event.  Pensacola Sports is a private 501(c)4 not-for-profit agency primarily funded from revenues generated from membership, partnerships and events. Our focus is education, inspiration and participation in various team, individual, amateur and professional sports activities.  Our annual programming includes  free youth sports clinics aimed at introducing sports to all children as well as provide safe, fun  activities for area youth, the Senior Scholar Athlete Banquet which awards over $100,000 in scholarships partnering with multiple organizations in the community,  a high school all-star series for volleyball, football, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball which gives senior athletes recognition and a chance to play in front of college coaches and much more.  Many Pensacola Sports events also directly engage and benefit organizations such as Arc Gateway, The Optimist Club, Police Cadet Programs and area Rotary Clubs

In addition to our event management, Pensacola Sports is the Sport Tourism marketing agency for Escambia county and our Pensacola Sports Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 philanthropic organization investing annually in worthwhile local sports initiatives.
