Combine Veteran’s Day weekend, historic Pensacola, sugar white sandy beaches, add a route atop the bluffs overlooking Escambia Bay where runners greet the sunrise and you have the perfect recipe for the 13th Annual Pensacola Marathon, scheduled Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 beginning at 6:30 a.m.
The starting line for both the marathon and the half marathon will be near Admiral Mason Park in Downtown Pensacola, near the intersection of 10th Avenue and Colfax St. The finish line for both races will be near the intersection of 10th Ave and Romana St., next to the Vietnam Wall Memorial. The course time limit for the full and half marathon is 6 hours. The half marathon utilizes much of the same course as the full, so the entire course closes 12:30 (6 hours).
Parking will be available at the Pensacola Bay Center in the East Parking Lot (Enter off 9th Ave.) along with parking on East Salamanca Street from St. Michael’s Cemetery to 9th Avenue.
Free street parking is provided throughout the city.
Please be respectful of local businesses by keeping their lots available for their customers.
Individuals – This event will be timed with the IPICO electronic timing system. You must wear your chip properly in order to be timed. Fasten the chip to the top of your shoe with the included orange tie. Make sure the chip is flat on top of your shoe. Once you have crossed the finish line volunteers will help you remove the chip.
Overall awards will be scored by GUN TIME.
Age category awards will be scored by NET or CHIP TIME.
The bag drop tent will be located adjacent to the finish line and will accept bags starting at 5:30 a.m.
Look for the Gilmore Services Moving Truck.
Bag Drop will close at 6:15 a.m. sharp. You must use the clear drawstring bag provided at packet pickup.
A gear check label is provided to you on your bib. It is your responsibility to place it on your bag when you drop it off at the Bag Drop Tent.
We ask that you do not place valuable items in your gear bag, we are NOT responsible for any lost or stolen items.
All items must be picked up no later than 1:00 p.m.
4 pins must be used to secure your bib to your shirt or shorts. They are provided to you.
Bib must be visible throughout the race and worn on the front of your body.
In order to have name and team (if applicable) printed on your bib, you must register by October 1st, 2017.
Aid stations are approximately every 2 miles. Every aid station will have spring water and Nuun Triberry (electrolyte drink). Aid stations near mile 8, 13, and 20 will have Powerbar Simple Fruit as an energy gel (various flavors). There will be portable toilets at each aid station as well as the start and finish areas. Medical support will be available on the course at each aid station and at the finish line. There will be some form of entertainment throughout the course from bands, DJ’s, high school, drum lines, residences cheering, parade floats, etc.
All finishers in both races will receive a custom Pensacola Marathon medal and a commemorative event poster. This year’s poster is the 3rd poster in a three part commemorative poster series. Refreshments, food, and beverages will be available at the finish line for all participants.
The 2017 Pensacola Marathon Expo and Packet Pick-Up will be located at the Pensacola Grand Hotel located at 200 E. Gregory St.
Saturday, November 11 – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
NO DAY-OF-RACE REGISTRATION
Day of race packet pickup is available but not preferred.
Proxy pickup is available at the Pensacola Marathon expo.
You must know your bib number in order to pick up your packet. The bib number listings will be posted on the website, Facebook, and e-mailed the week of the race.
Participants will receive a dry-fit performance short sleeve race shirt. Shirts will be gender specific. Please specify your size of shirt you would like when you submit your race application.
Overall awards for all three races will be including: overall, masters, grandmasters and senior grandmasters, will be awarded individually at the conclusion of each event. Age group awards three deep in five year age groups starting at 16 for the marathon,13 for the half, and the age of our youngest runner participating in the 5K, will be available at the finish area.

This is a Pensacola Sports event. Pensacola Sports is a private 501(c)4 not-for-profit agency primarily funded from revenues generated from membership, partnerships and events. Our focus is education, inspiration and participation in various team, individual, amateur and professional sports activities. Our annual programming includes free youth sports clinics aimed at introducing sports to all children as well as provide safe, fun activities for area youth, the Senior Scholar Athlete Banquet which awards over $100,000 in scholarships partnering with multiple organizations in the community, a high school all-star series for volleyball, football, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball which gives senior athletes recognition and a chance to play in front of college coaches and much more. Many Pensacola Sports events also directly engage and benefit organizations such as Arc Gateway, The Optimist Club, Police Cadet Programs and area Rotary Clubs

There will be the following pacers for the full marathon: 3, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5, 5:15, 5:30, 5:45, 6. The pacers will keep a steady pace the entire race and will not stop/walk through the water stops. Prior to the race, go to the “Running Wild” tent to meet up with the pacers. They will have pacer bibs on the front and back and will carry small sign with their pace time.
