DeLuna’s Beach Games Event Information

April 27-28, 2018

All swimmers will enter the water behind Flounders to the left of the pier.

The finish line is in the same area.

Each course is an out and back.

  • Sprint (.6 miles) – swim .3 out and back
  • Short (1.2) – swim .6 miles out and back
  • Long (2.4) – swim 1.2 miles out and back

Swim Awards

For each division – sprint, short, long swim:

Overall male and female

1st, 2nd and 3rd Female

1st, 2nd and 3rd Male

1st, 2nd and 3rd (14 and under combined)

Volleyball Awards

Co-Ed Team Awards

1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place

Participant check-in is on Friday, April 27 at Flounders from 5p-7p.  You will receive your shirts and event information.  We will go over rules and answer any questions for both events ( swim and volleyball).

Late registration will also be available if space remains.

Attendance is not mandatory.

This event will be self timed.  We will have separate starts for each swim distance.  All swimmers in each distance will start at the same time.  After you exit the water and cross the finish line, make a note of your time and go to the correct timing table for your distance to record your time.  Volunteers will be on-site to assist with timing, recording, and keeping people in order.

  • 8am – 8:45am – Volleyball warm-ups
  • 9am – Volleyball matches begin
  • 10:30am – Swim awards at Flounders stage
  • 5pm – Volleyball awards at Flounders stage

Pensacola Sports and the Santa Rosa Island Authority would like for you to enjoy your time at the DeLuna Beach Games. Please adhere to these guidelines and ordinances to ensure a safe and fun weekend:

  •  NO alcohol can be consumed in any parking lot on Santa Rosa Island
  • There is absolutely NO glass allowed on any of the beaches
  • Alcohol may be consumed on sandy portions of the beach ONLY. This applies to both Soundside and Gulfside. It must not be in a glass container.
  • Any persons that fails to comply with these policies will face second-degree misdemeanor charges and if convicted can recieve a $500 fine or 60 days in jail.

Swim Registration

  • Sprint (.6 miles)
    • 50 person cut-off
    • $30
  • Short Swim (1.2 miles)
    • 100 person cut-off
    • $40
    • Must be 11 years old or over
  • Long Swim (2.4 miles)
    • 50 person cut-off
    • $40
    • Must be 11 years old or over
  • Each participant receives:
    • Event t-shirt
    • Swim cap
    • Event wristband
      • 3 free drinks at Flounders, Bamboo Willies, or Hemingways
      • Discount on select food at Flounders, Bamboo Willies, or Hemingways

Volleyball Registration

  • 15 team max
  • $30 per person
  • Each participant receives:
    • Event t-shirt
    • Swim cap
    • Event wristband
      • 3 free drinks at Flounders, Bamboo Willies, or Hemingways
      • Discount on select food at Flounders, Bamboo Willies, or Hemingways

Rain / Refund Policy

  • There are no refunds for this event
  • In the event there is light rain or off and on rain, we will continue with the event on April 28
  • In the event there is lightning or predicted storms that morning, we will make a decision that day as to how long we will delay the start
  • In the event there is lightning or predicted storms all day on April 28, we will postpone until April 29
  • The rain make up date is Sunday, April 29
  • If the entire weekend is a washout, there will not be another make-up date.
    • If this happens, we will work with the indiviuduals to discount entry into next year’s event

We will utilize courts 1 and 2 first.  Courts 3 and 4 will be overflow if needed.

There will be 10′ foot rule of pursuit on the side of each court.

Once play begins, there will be no warming up on the tournament courts.
