2016 Board Members Announced for Pensacola Sports and Pensacola Sports Foundation

Both Pensacola Sports and Pensacola Sports Foundation are pleased to announce their 2016 Board of Directors, including a combined thirty-nine (39) incumbents and sixteen (16) newly ratified members.

For the first time in its 62-year history, Pensacola Sports will be led by a female President, Jackie Brown, a teacher with the Santa Rosa County Schools, member of the Santa Rosa Island Triathlon organizing committee and Program Director of the Jeff Galloway training group in Pensacola. The remainder of the 2016 Pensacola Sports Executive Committee is:

Jehan Clark (Swoop Consulting) – President Elect
Bill Hamilton (Pensacola State College) – Past President
Ted Gund (Saltmarsh, Cleaveland and Gund) – Vice President Finance
Rick Johnson (ServisFirst Bank) – Vice President TDC Affairs
Phil Kraus (Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club) – Vice President Events
John Panyko (Attorney at Law) – Vice President Sports Marketing
Norm Ross (Escambia County School District) – Vice President Sports Events
Mike Eddins (Hiles-McLeod Insurance) – Vice President Membership / Marketing

It will be a busy year according to newly elected President Brown, who added, “I am excited to be working with our outstanding board of directors. They come to Pensacola Sports with energy and experience that will enable us to fully achieve our goals for 2016.”

Returning 2016 Board members: Doug Bates (Clark, Partington, Hart), Bobby Behr (B B & T Bank), Chip Boes (Escambia County schools), Michael Burroughs (Gulf Power), Bruce Childers (Attorney at Law), Will Condon (Sacred Heart Health System), Brian Cooper (City of Pensacola), Bill Creedon (WEAR TV3), Cam Johnson (Cox Communications), Katie Kehoe (Holiday Inn Resort), Rhea Kessler (The Kessler Foundation), Mike Layton (FSi Group), Jay Patel (LHS Companies), Ron Pulley (City of Gulf Breeze), Michael Rhodes (Escambia County Parks), Robby Rushing (Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman and Areaux), Dave Scott (University of West Florida), David Taylor (Beggs and Lane), Mark Taylor (Lewis Bear Company), Finley Woodward (North Florida Financial).

Newly selected to the Pensacola Sports Board beginning January 2016: Jim Beran (Gilmore Services), Zach Brothers (Actigraph), Candy Carlisle, Charles Gheen (Santa Rosa Island Triathlon), Meghan Gilroy-Triolo (A Door Real Estate), Evan Malone (Executive Health Resources), Jared Martin (Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceutical), Janet Olliff (NurseSpring), D.C. Reeves (BLAB TV), Brent Scott (Medtronic, Inc.) and Jason Weeks (Santa Rosa County Schools).

The Pensacola Sports Foundation was founded in 1980 to educate the public in various sports activities, to provide scholarships to those expressing an interest in sports and physical education, and to contribute funds to similarly interested organizations. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided over $400,000 in grants to community organizations. The mission of the Foundation is “To support that part of the mission of the Pensacola Sports Association that focuses on the development, education, promotion, and recognition of youth sports, amateur sports, scholar athletes, and athletic excellence in the Greater Pensacola Area.” To learn more about the Foundation and Pensacola Sports, see the website www.pensacolasports.org

Newly selected to the Pensacola Sports Foundation Board beginning January 2016:

Shirley Cronley, John Hutchinson (Hutch-Touch Consulting), Hal Major (Habitat for Humanity), Jack Williams (Seville Quarter) and Donovan Whibbs (Whibbs, Stone, Barnett, Attorneys at Law).

Board President Rex McKinney said, “With these talented new members, the Foundation is excited about re-engaging with and further supporting Pensacola Sports in the coming year.”
